On my desk for years was a small cartoon showing an editor and a writer dressed in old-fashioned Russian togs, the Kremlin onion-towers visible outside the window, and the editor is saying -- "This is what we have in mind -- We'll bring out War this year and Peace as a sequel in a year or two."
